Susan Dipert-Scott, FNP

Susan, originally from Florida, graduated from Manatee Community College with an AS in Nursing in 1980. Also completed an AA degree from MCC, BS from University of South Florida, MS in Nursing education and Administration from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, and later a MS as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2001.

She worked as an RN from 1980-2001 in a variety of positions, from cardiac care, intensive care and emergency care units. RN positions included: staff RN, charge nurse, nursing supervisor and director of nursing of emergency services. She has worked in private clinics, community hospitals and multi-hospital settings and clinics.

As a FNP, she has worked in private practice, retail healthcare and owned two independent family practices. She has cared for infants to geriatrics. She also has experience in urgent care and occupation injury care and health maintenance. She is a certified Medical Examiner through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

She has taught nursing at the baccalaureate and master's level. Freshman and sophomore basic nursing clinicals, clinical skills lab, master's level nursing assessment courses and FNP clinical practice sites in addition to serving as a clinical preceptor for FNP students.

She enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. James Scott, and 6 children. "We have 3 sons and 3 daughters and now 6 grandchildren." In addition, she enjoys her 2 dogs: Curly and Lucy. Sewing has always been a part her life and she enjoys quilting, garment making, drawing, zentangle, jewelry making and multiple other craft modalities.
